Reduced(Sponge) Iron Powder

  Reduced iron powder(aslo known as sponge iron powder) is a high-purity iron powder prepared through a process that reduces iron oxide to metallic iron. Common reducing agents used in this process include carbonaceous materials and hydrogen gas, which promote the chemical reaction.

  This reaction requires high temperatures, usually above 800°C, to provide the necessary heat for the reaction. During the process, iron oxide reacts with the reducing agent, producing metallic iron and by-products such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, or water vapor, depending on the reducing agent used.

  Our reduced iron powder is produced using high-quality, purified magnetite (Fe₃O₄) or iron oxide scale as the raw material. Through a two-stage reduction process, consisting of primary carbon reduction followed by secondary hydrogen reduction, we produce high-quality, clean industrial reduced iron powder with an iron content of over 98.5%.

Our reduced iron powder products are mainly divided into the following four series, offering suitable options for customers with different application requirements:

  • JAY Series Reduced Iron Powder: Mainly used for the production of medium- to high-density, high-strength powder metallurgy components.
  • JAY-K Series High-Purity Reduced Iron Powder: Mainly used for high-end component manufacturing and as a base powder for copper-coated powders.
  • JHY Series Low-Density Reduced Iron Powder: Mainly used for the production of low-density powder metallurgy components, such as oil-impregnated bearings and bushings.
  • JHY-C Series Reduced Iron Powder: High-L and high-Q reduced iron powder, mainly used in magnetic materials.
